VAGO is the combined artistic effort of No Sé Discos artists 2butch, Sorcerer, Allá and Nayfo. VAGO dares to push the micro genre to its limits.

We are at the dawn of the micro genre! Unknowingly “modern” music is getting shorter, weirder and more addictive. Like sonic junk food. Like trees rushing in the wind, distant bird calls, fading party music, tik tok videos, youtube shorts, vague melodies, ringtones, jingles, elevators! An Idea, sound, melody or lyric that shoots straight into the mind and onto tape. Lighting in the bottle. Don’t be fooled by the re-branding, the Micro Genre is really just childlike wonder caught on tape. Joyous wanderlust. Music of the present with a twist of a demented pop jingle. Absurdist wormhole end of the radio pop.

The micro genre can be seen as a reflection of the way that technology is changing the way we consume music. With the rise of social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, people are increasingly looking for short, attention-grabbing forms of entertainment that they can easily consume on their phones. This has led to a proliferation of short-form music that can be easily shared and enjoyed in bite-sized chunks.

At its core, the micro genre is about capturing the joy of discovery and the wonder of the present moment. It's about taking the sounds and experiences of everyday life and transforming them into something magical and unexpected. Whether it's the sound of a bird call or the melody of a pop jingle, the micro genre is all about finding beauty in the smallest, most mundane things.

By writing in a stream of consciousness style, the music can come across as more authentic and true to the artist's personal experiences and emotions. This can lead to a deeper connection with the listener and a stronger impact.

Writing shorter pieces of music can be more efficient and less time-consuming than longer compositions. It can also allow for more experimentation and a wider range of musical styles to be explored.
